The Lodge
Description
The Lodge is a spacious, 4/5 bedroom home located at the top of Woolacombe giving great access to the beach and cycle/walking routes. The perfect location for a family holiday!
Cooking/Dining
The Lodge has a large, well equipped farmhouse style kitchen/breakfast room with plenty of cupboard storage, a 4 oven range cooker, dishwasher, Bosch Tassimo coffee maker and breakfast bar area with log burner and French doors opening to the front. There is also a useful utility room which houses the large American style fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer.
A stylish, separate dining room provides formal seating for up to 10 people and is the perfect setting for entertaining family and friends in the evening.
Living
The main sitting room provides comfortable seating for 7. There is a log burner which is perfect for cosy winter evenings, plus a Smart TV for entertainment. The adjoining second living room has a sofa bed with seating for a further 2 - 3 people.
Sleeping
There are 4 bedrooms in total plus the sofabed room/second living room sleeping up to 9 guests.
The master bedroom is spacious and has a king size bed, tv with freeview & DVD, plenty of hanging space for clothes and french doors open onto a lovely balcony with views over the surrounding countryside and out to sea with Wales in the distance. A bistro table and chairs on the balcony provides the perfect spot for morning coffee or an evening spent watching the sunset with a glass of wine!
Bedrooms 2 and 3 are both twin bedrooms with hanging for clothes and bedroom 4 has a short (5'11") single bed (suitable for children and small adults). The second living room is accessed via the kitchen and/or the main living room and provides a king size sofa bed available on request.
Bathing
The main family bathroom is located on the first floor and has a bath and separate shower. There is also a shower room to the ground floor and a hose pipe plus warm outside shower for washing off after the beach!
Outside
The wonderful south facing rear terrace is equipped with table and chairs for 'al-fresco dining', coal BBQ, clothes airer and HOT TUB (extra charge applies). There is access around the side of the property to the small lawned area to the front, where there is a shed for storing bikes/boards and a wetsuit hanging area. The driveway has parking for 3-4 vehicles.

Bed linen, hand/bath towels (1 per person) are provided free of charge.

There is a split staircase with 2 bedrooms located on each side. Stair gates are provided for the two top landings and also for the bottom of the stairs and guests may put these in place if they are required.
Max two dogs are welcome at this property. Dogs are charged as extra £25 per dog- per week/ short break
Use of the hot tub can be added for an additional charge of £150 per week/short break.

Rental & Booking Information
£60 non-refundable booking fee payable at time of booking.
50% of the accommodation cost and booking fee are required to secure the booking. The remaining balance & payment for any extras is due 8 weeks prior to arrival along with the refundable damages deposit (if applicable). If your dates are within 10 weeks, full payment is required.
Check-in time is from 4pm and the check-out time is 10am.

We visited with first time visitor friends to the area who loves the property and the local area. Well positioned to enjoy the great outdoors, surfing, beach days and coastal walks. We had a lovely week in this lovely house. Plenty of room and a space for dogs too. Facilities are modern and easy to use, beds are comfortable house is warm and inviting with option of log fire. It's five minutes drive from Woolacombe so a car is a must but that was no problem for us! Thank you Ocean Cottages for your excellent service.

Lovely place to stay felt very at home here and also enjoyed the company of the sheep over the road. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was very tidy. The hot tub was fabulous, especially in the morning. A beautiful gem tucked away in the Devon landscape. Would reccomend!
The Lodge has an amazing view from the balcony. This is great for the family as it is very homely and comfortable. Will be coming back, amazing beds, super comfortable :)
We've stayed at this property twice now. Each time we have had such a superb time. The location is perfect if you have dogs for lovely walks, but even if you don't there's lots to do and lovely places to drive to and explore. The house is home from home, everything you need and more. With two cosy log burners to relax around, the property is also extremely clean and well furnished. The jacuzzi is the icing on the cake to relax in after your energetic day seeing the wonderful local sights. The quaint local town is perfect to browse around and enjoy fine eateries and light entertainment. We will definitely be returning again in the future.

We had a wonderful stay here. We all would like to stay for longer.
We wanted somewhere where all the family, age ranges from 2 to 62 could stay so that we could make memories. The Lodge was perfect for us and had everything we needed, was very well equipped and a perfect location to explore the surrounding area.
We had a great family weekend ! Really enjoyed the house it was exactly what we wanted. Modern comforts and little things like a huge fridge freezer great BB and entertainment to keep the whole family entertained . We must say it also has a fabulous dining room which we really enjoyed. I would highly recommend this house and will defiantly be booking it again . Only one tiny negative. Need a few more suaspans As it's a large house and we struggled to cook a full roast dinner. Woolcombe beach is a 5 min drive and defiantly worth a visit with the red barn doing excellent food . Over all a great stay and would highly recommend .

We had amazing week in this lovely house. The house has everything you need to make it home from home. The hot tub was well used, the kids loved it. Everything was clean and exactly as described. Claire the housekeeper was very quick to resolve any issue we had. Watching the sunset from the bedroom balcony is a must! We would definitely return.
A gorgeous, spacious house with lovely views. We were really impressed with how they had thought about families of all ages, for example the motion sensor lights on the landing and stair gates if required. All necessary appliances, plenty of parking, well located near the beach. Thank you for a very comfortable stay.
The Lodge was a perfect place for our family get together. Many beautiful beaches within a few minutes drive, and close to lots of scenic hikes, drives and lovely towns with great restaurants. The Lodge was immaculate and had room for us all at the big dining table and in the lounge. The kitchen was well appointed witth plenty of dishes for our group. We took great advantage of the hot tub after our hikes, sea swims and surfing. We look forward to going back!
The lodge was very clean and decorated to high standard .The beds were very comfortable with lovely crisp white sheets ,something we always check out and expect.The towels were in very good condition ,white and soft.Fantastic shower . Everything was great. The only thing we would have appreciated if anything is litter bins in the bedrooms. We would not hesitate to book with Ocean-cottages again ,the booking process ran very smoothly with very helpful ,knowledgeable and kind staff. A lovely holiday .Thank you.
My family really enjoyed staying at the lodge this July. The property is beautiful and very spacious, great for getting all the family together. The owners have thought of everything and it was like a home from home. We loved using the hot tub in evenings too! The location is great with lots of lovely coastal walks on your doorstep, and very close to the beautiful beach at Woolacombe. I would highly recommend this lovely property and we look forward to coming back again soon.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Lodge, it's the perfect base to access all the beautiful beaches of North Devon yet also a wonderful homely space to relax in. There are stunning views from the balcony and the hot tub was such a treat. The showers are good and beds very comfortable, the outside shower is great after a day at the beach. Looking forward to staying again in the future.
Staying at The Lodge was a delightful experience. Very well equipped, comfortable, well decorated, well thought-out inviting spaces and a host of charming details. All the spaces were detail oriented to make your stay relaxing, easy and a real treat. Great kitchen - with top end appliances and everything you need. The bedrooms all had very comfortable beds, character and charm and the views over the fields to the sea were lovely. Very good shower and bath. The outside garden and patio areas were also very much appreciated and well thought out, including the outside shower for sandy toes and we also noticed carefully and well planned out safety features for little members of the family. The Lodge would make a fantastic house for a family break, anytime of year. For example the wood burning fireplaces would be cozy in the colder months, and could easily imagine curling up in front of. Would definitely recommend and we wish the owners all the best.
