We love the location of this place (near pub, shops, beach, lovely walks, etc.). There is pretty much everything needed and it is was perfect for a family with children (with a dog).
We had a lovely 7 days in Croyde. NUTHURST was in an excellent location for both the beach (dog friendly from 1st October) and Croyde. Property was very clean, well provided for with ample room in the kitchen and living areas. Woodburner was well maintained and easy to use. Great to have the outside shower area to clean your dog and dry in the e closed rear garden. We recommend the Manor Inn for Sunday carvery and the King's Arms in Georgeham both gave excellent service and good quality food, plenty of parking and dog friendly. Dropped in to the Thatch for a few pints which just around the corner. We will definitely be back again. Croyde is one of our favourite short break holidays destinations in autumn.
Nuthurst more than lived up to expectations after we had enjoyed all of the photos. The accommodation was very comfortable and generous, and we were soon quite at home. We cooked at home and wanted for nothing in the kitchen. The post office shop has everything you need, The Thatch pub is a good local and the Coastal Kitchen restaurant is really 5 star. We were able to visit the nearby beaches and towns quite easily and would certainly return.

Great cottage in an ideal location close to the village and bars/restaurants. Approx 10 minutes walk to the beach. Great holiday.
I have stayed many times in Croyde, booking bungalows via Ocean Cottages, and they have all been to a high standard. This is the first time I have stayed at Nuthurst, it too was ideal, very comfortable, enclosed garden for my two Westie dogs and centrally placed for the pubs, restaurants, and beach path. I shall definitely return. Thank you.
The bungalow was brilliant. It had everything you could need whilst on holiday. ( just like being at home) Lovely big and clean . Would definitely book with ocean holidays again thank you
Group of 6 mostly a family plus a friend of our eldest. Bedrooms and number of beds were perfectly adequate, in fact the kids room with the bunks seemed the most comfortable. The 2 double rooms were fine. It only has 1 bathroom which wasn't an issue for 5 days but I can imagine any longer if not all the same family could be. There is an additional separate toilet which made it easier. All other facilities are absolutely fine, new BBQ which we enjoyed (so not new any more). It was sunny all the time we were there so got to enjoy the front and back garden seating (good quality wood). The sun hits both usually all day in the summer. Outside shower was handy, and warm too! Feedback I would have is that the curtains are low quality and don't block the light. Fine if you get up with the sun but if you don't you will. I would have preferred black out while sleeping. Bring your own towels too, the 'bath towel' is small and thin, and a hand towel. I think they could do better on the quality and amount of towels that are provided. Wi-Fi was just about adequate to watch Netflix but if multiple devices are streaming it was problematic. Tried to do a couple of teams calls too but had stability issues. Took a while to update my work inbox. If you are planning to work more than a few bits and pieces the Wi-Fi isn't good enough. I did a speed test and got 8mg downloads and .3 upload. Summary; clean, tidy, not tired, a fantastic location, and the photos for the garden don't do it justice. But, investing in a couple of things, curtains, towels, and Wi-Fi would be a welcome and relatively low cost improvement.
I stayed at Nuthurst with my husband and two sons aged 23 and 15. We loved it! The youngest enjoyed the double lower bunk in the family room, and the rest of us also had reasonable-sized doubles. There is a lovely comfy lounge and a well-equipped kitchen. The bathroom was nice and clean, as was the additional toilet - a useful feature. The whole place was clean, equipped with everything we needed and just perfect for us. The most wonderful feature was the garden - on both sides of the house: a lovely enclosed garden at the back, which was great for our two dogs, for playing our Swingball game and for eating dinner ( I don't think we ate indoors once in two weeks!); and a semi-secluded front garden with a rotary clothes line and a table and chairs - perfect for breakfast, quiet reading and aperitifs. We loved the mature shrubs and flowers too! I kept the rose bushes dead-headed whilst I was there. The cottage is perfectly located in a very quiet road just behind the main high street of Croyde, with walkable access to the Croyde beach, and within easy driving distance of lovely Saunton Sands and Putsborough Beach. Also there's a nice quiet lane just around the corner from the house, which is fantastic for dog walks, and leads to various public footpaths. I have a very nervous beagle who dislikes walking beside busy roads and near pedestrians, but she loved the lanes and footpaths - we walked half way to Saunton one day (too hot to go all the way). Both Ocean Cottages and Gemma the housekeeper were very responsive and helpful. If I had to find a few niggles, they would be the wobbly tap in the main bathroom, and a couple of slightly sticky doors, but I know the latter is being addressed, and was probably a lot to do with the intense heat. Also, would be nice to have glasses more appropriate for prosecco.....but then I really am being picky! All in all, we could not have had a more pleasant stay.
We stayed for 4 nights in June. The cottage was well equipped. Beds were comfy. Location is brilliant with only a short walk to village, where there is a good selection of restaurants and also within a 15 min walk to the beach. Great to be able to take our dog. The garden was secure and quiet. Would stay again.
We had a lovely and relaxing week in croyde , Nuthurst is lovely in a great location a short stroll to shops ,restaurants and icecream , has everything you could possibly need , immaculate inside and out with the garden being ideal with a 3yr old , we all said its the best we have stayed in over the years and we will definitely be back
We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived as the cottage was much roomier than the pictures suggested. Incredibly well equipped, clean, great position in the middle of the village and lovely gardens front and back. Will definitely book again.
Deceptively large cottage with both front and back garden opportunities. Three good bedrooms, well presented kitchen and a large open dining and lounge area. The cottage is excellently situated to enjoy Croyde at its best, with a short walk to the pubs and the beach. Would highly recommend.
We loved staying at Nuthurst. The house was clean and equipped with everything we needed. The garden is big enough for the children to play and rear garden is enclosed. The location was fantastic as it was only a short walk to the shops for ice cream and close to the beach pathway. We hope to return!
Nuthurst is in the ideal location , just off the village centre , all the catering and retail outlets , and the footpath to the beach. Internally the layout is superb , with the large lounge/diner and kitchen off on one side , good sized bedrooms on the other . And having two gardens, front and rear, is a real luxury to maximise the chances of shelter depending on wind direction. We would definitely take this place again
A lovely well situated bungalow, walking distance for all local amenities from pubs, shops, beach and coastal walks. The bungalow is very well equipped, with a fabulous secure garden for dogs. Fantastic. The only very minor negatives that could be improved on is tidier garden (grass cut, hedges trimmed for easy access to drive etc), shower holder fixed in one position, unable to adjust height of shower head, (not ideal for shorter guests), the windows also could have done with a clean on the outside. However these are only minor adjustments to an almost perfect stay! Thank you.
This was our second stay at Nuthurst. Nicely furnished and very comfortable and clean. Close to the beach and Croyde village - both very easy walking distance - but in a nice quiet road. Excellent Covid 19 measures in place and the Ocean Cottages team were excellent!
A Fantastic bungalow superbly situated with easy access to village and beach. Could not have asked for more. Cottage beautifully clean on arrival and so glad to find items that make the difference: kitchen towel, dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid, bin bags, toilet roll... Thank you Ocean Cottages
It was a great place to stay with my wife, daughters and our little dog. The location was perfect for the beach and walks. The weather was also wonderful and I am sure we will be back again!
Lovely house right in the village centre, well equipped and comfortable. The two keen body boarders in our party found the outside shower a real boon. Back garden lovely and private with plenty of garden furniture. Our third time staying in Croyde and best accommodation by far. Would absolutely recommend both Nuthurst and Ocean Cottages.
We have been renting houses in North Cornwall for 18 years and love it - however having recently stayed with you in Nuthurst we were very impressed. Thank you to Gemma who actioned a couple of requests we had when we could not work the TV We will definitely be booking through you - our 2 daughters are surfers loved the beaches as did we Best wishes Susie Ward
