Stunning, large holiday home in prime position... perfect for families!
Homelands is a fabulous, spacious 4 bedroom home in a fantastic position in Croyde. South facing balcony with sea views, large south facing terrace with ample outdoor seating and 2 BBQ's. Very well equipped for children with games, toys and playhouse/swings. Less than a 5 minutes walk to the beach and 10 minutes to the village - Homelands makes the ideal holiday home for any size family!

 

Homelands has been recently upgraded and redecorated following a change in ownership and now provides a stunning, luxurious holiday home which is located in an excellent position on Moor Lane in Croyde.  Views are enjoyed across the village, dunes and out to sea from several rooms and it is located just a short (5 minute) walk to the beach and a 5-10 minute walk to the village amenities.  The property is very well equipped with everything you will require for a fun-filled family holiday. The owners have thoughtfully provided plenty of board games, books, toys and baby equipment including a stroller and baby walker. The living areas are arranged to provide space for everyone to enjoy, including a play area for children and a separate 'tv room' off the main sitting room for adults to relax. The outside spaces provides a large south facing terrace to the front with plenty of outside furniture - a great entertaining space. There is also a separate play area for the children to rear and plenty of parking.  We are certain Homelands will become your new favourite holiday home in North Devon!

 

Cooking/Dining

The kitchen/dining room is the hub of this property and is where we are sure you will find everything you need to cater for your family and/or friends.  Evenings at the dining table, whether playing a board game, completing a puzzle or enjoying a meal will keep you entertained whatever the weather.  The beautiful log burner which serves both the dining area and the main sitting room creates a lovely atmosphere during the winter months, making the house ideal no matter what time of year.  The kitchen is very well equipped with granite worktops, Nespresso coffee machine, panini maker, comprehensive range of cooking equipment/utensils and a large American style fridge freezer.  There is also a dishwasher and a separate utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.  The kitchen opens both into the main living room and also the playroom making it so much easier to engage with the children and your friends/family whilst conjuring up a feast.  

 

Living

Homelands is certainly not lacking in living space. The main living room provides a wonderful space to relax with two comfortable sofas providing seating for 6-7 people together with two funky rocking recliners in front of the full height windows, which overlook the front terrace and garden towards the dunes.

An open archway leads through to the TV area where there is a comfortable corner sofa and chaise longue, providing seating for up to 6 guests.  Additional seating is provided in the form of large leather bean bags. There is a large wall mounted smart tv with sky box (freeview channels only - however you can bring your own Sky card if you wish to use your own subscription for movies/sports etc). There is also a sound bar.

The children's living/playroom is open to the kitchen meaning you can keep an eye on the little ones whilst cooking. There is a small sofa and plenty of books, games, toys and Lego as well as a wall mounted smart tv to keep the little ones entertained!  French doors lead out to the secure gated rear deck with wendy house and onto the lawned garden.

 

Sleeping

There are 4 bedrooms sleeping up to 10 guests. The master bedroom has zip and link beds which can be arranged as two singles or a king size bed. There are lovely views to the front across the dunes and out to sea, plenty of clothes hanging & storage and a good sized en-suite bathroom with shower over the bath.

Bedroom 2 has a super king size bed, views over the dunes to the front and an en-suite bathroom with corner bath. Bedroom 3 has two sets of full-size bunk beds (sleeping 4) and overlooks the rear garden. 

Bedroom 4 is a wonderful room with king size bed, sink unit and fantastic 'sea view cocktail balcony' which has rattan seating for up to 8 people. This is a wonderful spot to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening drink whilst watching the sun set.

 

Bathing

To the ground floor, within the utility room, there is a shower room with two shower cubicles and toilet. Upstairs there is a family bathroom plus separate toilet, 2 en-suite bathrooms (to bedrooms 1 and 2) plus an outdoor hot shower - perfect for washing off after the beach!

 

Outside

The driveway gives access to Homelands and two other properties. There is ample parking outside Homelands for approximately 4 vehicles. The main south facing garden and terrace are located to the front of the property. The new large, south facing terrace is accessed from the dining and living areas and provides a fabulous entertaining space with ample outdoor table and chairs seating up to 12, two BBQ's and some sun loungers.  

To the rear of the property, there is a further lawned garden area where there is a swing for children (must be supervised at all times and used at own risk). The garden is not fully enclosed therefore children and dogs should be supervised at all times.  The enclosed, decked area (also accessed from the playroom) has a wendy house, outdoor toys and a children's rattan table and chair set making this a great feature for families.

There is also a surfboard rack, wetsuit drying rail and hot outdoor shower - perfect for washing off after a long day at the beach!

 

Good to Know

Wifi, bed linen and hand/bath towels are provided free of charge.

Very conveniently located between the beach and the village.  Walk to the beach is approx 5 minutes and to the village is approx 10 minutes.

This property does permit an optional inflatable hot tub, which can be hired by guests using our verified external provider, cost is variable (subject to availability). If guests choose to hire an inflatable hot tub there is an addtional £60 charge paid to cover water usage and electricity. Please contact us for more information.

1 dog is accepted at this property (charges apply).

The front and rear garden are not fully enclosed and therefore children (and dogs) should be supervised at all times, however the Children's terrace to the rear is fully enclosed with gated access.

£60 non-refundable booking fee payable at time of booking.

50% of the accommodation cost and booking fee are required to secure the booking. The remaining balance & payment for any extras is due 8 weeks prior to arrival along with the refundable damages deposit (if applicable).  If your dates are within 10 weeks, full payment is required.

Check-in time is from 4pm and the check-out time is 10am.

Homelands was fantastic

Homelands was fantastic, we've been to Croyde three times and this was the best place we've stayed in. The location was perfect, easy walking to the beach and to the pubs, cafes etc. The house felt like home from home, loads of space yet we felt together, well stocked with equipment and amenities and clean. Couldn't fault it, will hopefully return in the future!

A perfect house for a special birthday week with family

We were a 3 generation party for a weeks holiday. The house is extremely welcoming and comfortable and it's very well equipped throughout. We loved the open plan layout and the 2 lounge areas gave us plenty of room to spread out if we wanted to. The beds were very comfortable which is what's needed at the end of the day. The toys and books were a big hit with our 4 year old grandson. Good location, 10 minute walk to the beach and 10 minutes in the other direction to the village. We would definitely recommend Ocean Cottages as they are very friendly and easy to deal with. May 2024

Outstanding property in a superb location

Thankfully, after a really disappointing experience with another property from another company, Hannah from Ocean Cottages was able to arrange this booking within 3 hours notice, and we moved! This really saved our holiday for 2 families of 4! Thank you again. I can't imagine anyone staying here not having a fantastic time. It's a big open plan house but with separate areas for dining, 2 lounge areas and a super kids area which leads out to the back garden. There are lots of sofas and plenty of space to chill out. Upstairs is also well laid out and the beds are very comfy. The house is completely equipped with everything you need for your stay. We didn't want for anything. If you are a surfer then everything has been thought of, outside shower & hoses, 2 showers just inside the back door etc. the front deck must be amazing in summer and again it's well equipped with furniture and bbqs. The location is also excellent mid way between the superb beach and village of Croyde. 5 minute walk to both. There are loads of good pubs and restaurants nearby and we also enjoyed Woolacombe. We would happily return to Homelands and book again with Ocean Cottages. There is another house on the same site called Horizon which looks equally impressive.

Well-Equipped House!

Perfect, well-equipped house! Great variety of games for children. Lots of storage space, BBQ - which was fantastic for a lovely evening meal! The town is so near and absolutely beautiful. We love the ice cream! Children loved body-boarding in the sea, and the comfy black chairs.

Just fabulous

Stayed in Homelands, Croyde. 24 June-1 July. The house is extremely spacious with 2 large lounges and another room off the very well equipped kitchen that was full of toys and books. Our party consisted of me and my partner, my daughter and her husband and their 2 children one aged 3 1/2 and a 10 month old baby, and my son. The house has 4 wonderful bedrooms, and 4 bathrooms, sliding French doors from both the kitchen and one of the lounges into the lounge. Masses of cutlery, crockery, wine glasses, pans etc. We hired a hot tub from a company that Ocean Cottages recommended which was in the front garden upon our arrival. It made the holiday for us. The correspondence with Ocean Cottages was first class. Every query was dealt with immediately. My family were talking about returning at our next opportunity while we were still there. It was that good!

Perfect Place to Relax and Enjoy Croyde

We have stayed in many houses in Croyde and this is by far the best. Great location, 5 mins walk from beach and 10 mins walk from town. The house is so well equipped, literally everything you could want (even a milk frother!). Loads of space as two separate lounge areas. Great views. Would highly recommend. We were a group of adults but I can see it would be great for kids too. Also, Ocean Cottages really helpful with queries,

Great place to stay with a welcoming feel, so handy for the beach and village,

We had a great stay in Homelands. It was just as described on the website, clean and well equipped, spacious and modern, with a lovely atmosphere. We were very grateful for the toy selection which the children loved! Ocean Cottages handled our booking in a friendly and efficient no-hassle way. We shall definitely book with them again.

Cosy and homely... perfect for a family

The house on arrival was lovely and warm. On entering we discovered a well planned out home with lots of beautiful touches, comfort and amenities. The bedrooms were comfortable and quiet. Kitchen complete for any meal and lots of room to be seated. We loved the big sofas and cosy touches in the lounge. All in all a fab property.
