Hills View

We have a great time in Hills View. The house was perfect for our family. The kitchen had all the utensils we needed and our dogs enjoyed their treats. They also enjoyed the lovely garden and the short walk to Croyde beach. The added bonus was being very central to everything so we were able to walk everywhere including to the ice cream shop which was just across the road! We will definitely be back!

We have been coming to Croyde for many years now but first time in this property. It was a lovely house and extremely comfortable. Very clean with everything you could possibly want. We loved the beautiful garden and spent a lot of time in it sunbathing and watching the world go by. Very close to the village which was nice. We had my elderly father with us so the downstairs bedroom was ideal for him. It was like home from home! If I was to be really picky the only negative was that we felt that the double bed was a bit small for us as we are used to a kingsize. It would be lovely if the garden had a couple of sun loungers as we spent a lot of time in the garden but this certainly wouldn't put us off coming again. The housekeeper was also very helpful so thank you ! We will definitely book again !!

Another great visit to Croyde but first time at Hills View. Lovely House and garden, it was our dogs first holiday with us, and she loved the garden in particular. Our kids loved the location and being able to pop out to the shops and ice cream sellers! The house was lovely and clean too. Thanks for a great stay.

The cottage is situated perfectly in the centre of Croyde. Rooms are spacious and extremely clean with a homely feel, plenty of parking room for 2-3 cars, with a large beautifully maintained garden. My family and I (including our dogs) love it here, with this being our 3rd stay. If you don't fancy driving, there is a bus stop outside the property, the buses accept dogs (down to the driver's discretion but we've never been turned away). Saunton Sands is a must… stunning. The Manor House & The Thatch are great restaurants too

Hills View is in a great location. The house was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The garden was lovely, we sat out a lot. Central for the shops, pubs and restaurants. So many walks to do, you could park your car and not move it for a week! The beaches and scenery are amazing. We will be back. Thank you.

Such a good location in the village and close to several beaches. Apart from a couple of wet days we have had good weather and good use of the garden are. Would love to come back again one day.

The property was clean, comfortable and the kitchen was very well equipped. We found the location perfect for us, peaceful whilst being very convenient to the shops and restaurants of Croyde and a lovely easy walk on the footpath to the beach. Big garden was great for our dog and to sit out. We will stay here again in the future.

The cottage is ideal for a short break in Croyde, spotlessly clean & beautifully decorated throughout, it has plenty of space and the kitchen is well appointed, the cottage is very warm and comfortable, things not so good, showers have very poor pressure, the first floor shower is only suitable for a child, could not run the cold tap in the ground floor bathroom at night as it was too noisy, one of our party is allergic to cats & the property caused a reaction, 19 Mg broadband, vent in ground floor bathroom requires cleaning, only one door key, these are minor issues that didn’t effect a perfect stay.

Stay 13-27th July . Hills view is in a great location. 10 mins walk from beach by walking along path by billy budds. Shops, pubs less than 5 mins. Very convenient. We have a very small mini daschund and I was worried before we got there that she might escape but it was great and I could totally relax!! The owner and house keeper Sarah were just lovely, couldn’t do enough if you needed it. If there was one thing that was a shame, it was a bit more noisy than I’m used to as live in a close with no through traffic and there is quite a lot of people walking by and restaurants with open eating areas close by. it’s in the centre of things I suppose so you can’t have everything.No one else in family were bothered. We did have a very relaxing time and will return to Croyde as love the area.

A very pretty cottage in a great location in a lovely village

A good house with stunning garden, right in the centre of the village. Good space inside with well equipped kitchen. Only downside for us was the master bed which really was extremely uncomfortable unfortunately.

Stayed for just 5 nights and had a wonderful time the accommodation is just superb a real home from home so comfortable with everything you need and the location well that was just brilliant ………. we are already checking dates to return in April 2023

Great location for Croyde; it's pubs, restaurants and shops, together with easy access to the Beach and just a short drive to Putsborough for a great beach walk with the dog. The cottage had everything we would want to make our stay there like a home from home and was faultlessly clean.

We have loved every moment, especially the luxury of being so close to the village as well as the beach.  As a family we have relished our late summer, and it sees us entirely refreshed for our return to 'real life'- let's get down to business!

Lovely house,very well equipped. Plenty of space with a nice garden with enough shade to stay cool. Not sure we will be able to afford another stay but if we can we will be back.

This stay is at Croyde was so much fun and the house was so easy to stay in. We have come to Croyde for so long and this house was the closest to the centre of the village. (practically in the centre!) It was clean and had everything we needed. We loved beins so close to everything. Hopefully we'll be able to stay here again, also the garden was fabulous!

The cottage is so well equipped with everything you could possibly need. It was also spotlessly clean. The garden is safe and secure and the central location is fab. This was our second stay - it won't be our last !

We have had a wonderful two weeks here. Lovely house - so comfortable and central location in the village. Beautiful garden to relax in. We love Croyde and have been coming here for fifteen years so obviously have stayed in many properties. This one is certainly one of the best.

 

 

Hills View has been a wonderful place to stay whilst holidaying in Croyde . We have been visiting the village for many years and think that this is one of the best places we have rented . It is comfortable , well equipped , has a lovely garden in which to relax and is perfectly situated in the heart of Croyde . Five stars from us all who stayed there .

House was great and garden was fantastic. Very clean and well equipped, lots of bowls etc in the kitchen so plenty of dishes for a BBQ with lots of sides. ( Maybe one or two pieces of tupperware would be helpful). The garden too was well equipped with picnic tables (2) benches, an umbrella and BBQ. The en suite bathroom to the main bedroom is massive (don't try and shower in there though as you will bang your head). The shared bathroom is perfectly adequate an the shower in the bedroom can be helpful. The location is great, a minute walk to the shops for a pasty. take away Pizza or ice cream. The post office/ shop is a minute away too. The pub, restaurant, tea room etc are all a minute or two walk and the beach is only 10-15 minute walk away ( no traffic on this route either). You can walk to Woolacombe and Saunton Sands (great hotel here for a spa). The bus stops right outside the house so people on the top deck look in the garden but we enjoyed waving to them so for us this was not a problem. I would thoroughly recommend staying in this house, especially if you have children as the garden is great and location could not be better. My only issue was being told you can't get in until 6pm (5pm pre Covid) but you have to be out by 9am. This is almost a whole day out of your holiday and seems a little excessive. Other than that a great stay thank you very much. Would come again.

You really do feel like you have the best location in Croyde. Shops, beach and restaurants are all within walking distance the bus stop is almost on your door step. Our home for the week had ample parking, super dog friendly, extremely clean and tidy. This was our second time visiting and can't wait for a 3rd.

We don't want to go home! Looking forward to coming down here in the New Year!

Lovely cottage, great central location! We had lots of time in the sea and a great cycle to Ilfracombe and love Croyde!

We spent a very enjoyable holiday at Hills View in Croyde. The house was well equipped, comfortable and clean. We loved the garden plenty of space for the children to play in and so pretty. The location is ideal with a 15minute, off road, walk to the beach and ice cream parlour just over the road.

This is a fantastic property in a central Croyde location. It was beautifully presented, very clean and well equipped. The reclining chairs in the lounge were very popular and the beds very comfortable. The garden is large and was really well enjoyed by the grandchildren. We had fantastic weather and ate in the garden nearly every day, and although on the main road it was private enough not to be a problem, and the closeness to the amenities outweighed any downside. Approximately 10 to 15 minutes easy walk to a super beach so not too far if you forget, or need to get something. All in all a brilliant holiday, and we wouldn't hesitate returning or using Ocean Cottages again.

We had a great week staying at Hills View, its a lovely good size cottage in the Perfect Location. The Cottage was very clean and had all the amenities required and when coming back to Croyde it will be Hills View we will be choosing to stay.

The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything we could've wanted. The garden was great for the dogs (and us!) and the location was perfect. The Kitchen was very well kitted out, all beds and settees were comfy. Couldn't ask for more, a real home from home.

Excellent stay at Hills view cottage, great location and my 2 German short haired pointers enjoyed the large secure garden.The cottage was nice and clean.The only slight down side was the attention to cleanliness of the downstairs bedroom quilt and pillows which could do with been replaced as they were stained and tired.However I would definitely recommend and book this property in the near future.

In an amazing position right in Croyde and beautiful garden with great views which we loved. Well equipped, homely and pristinely clean. Six of us and our dog enjoyed our stay and with the weather being not so good at times the cosy lounge and recliner settee was also welcome . We will definitely book again.

This is a lovely house in a fantastic location, ideal for a family, everything that you could require in the house and excellent and pretty garden ideal for dogs. House was beautifully clean, best we have stayed in.

Putsborough beach fantastic, ice cream and pasty the best.  Wonderful holiday with our children.

The cottage was lovely and ticked all the boxes. I have never walked into such a clean holiday home before as this one, such a pleasure. It had everything you needed plus comfort, the recliner sofa and chairs were so comfortable, just what you need to relax in after a day out. The garden was just brilliant, fully secure for our two collie dogs to play and run around in without having to worry about them. The location of the cottage was perfect, we were able to walk everywhere, great not to have to get the car out to go to the beaches, cafe's and pubs that were all within walking distance. We really did enjoy our stay at Hill's View and would definitely re visit and recommend. Just perfect !!

It is a truly lovely house and superbly located for the village and the beach. We will definitely be back again as Croyde if one of our favourite places in Devon! The owners of this house are also super friendly and can't do enough for you if you need it.

Hills View is a lovely house with a great garden, perfect for both our daughters and 2 dogs. We had a very enjoyable week there in August and found the house very well equipped and exceptionally well located in the heart of Croyde - steps from the deli, village shop, pop up pizza stall, pubs and restaurants and even the deckchair cinema in the village hall across the road. An easy walk to the beach and good access to Saunton Sands for the dogs to have a run. Recommend highly.

'Home from home' - We have had a lovely time here at Hills View. 1st class accommodation - can't fault a thing. Would not hesitate to recommend this house enough and hope to return in the future!

Great week at Hills View. Weather was good on the coast despite rain countrywide. Lovely place, well equipped and spotless. Ideal place to stay- sun in morning and evening.

This is our second visit to Croyde - The cottage is in an ideal position and felt like home fro home, being cosy, fully equipped and peaceful. We're amazed how so many pubs and restaurants allow your dogs in!! Brilliant! The Kings Arms in Georgeham is fantastic and all the locals are so friendly. Braunton has a great pub (the building is shaped like a castle and overlooks the estuary, I can't remember it's name) We will definitely return to Croyde with the rest of the clan! Happy days!!

Fantastic stay, weather to die for. Perfect position and relaxing house and garden. Great BBQ. Will be returning next year.

Centrally located premises in the heart of an old North Devon Village. A haven for surfers, but also for those who simply want to walk and cycle and stay dry (weather dependant). The countryside is magnificent, the coast line dramatic, the views on a clear day exquisite . The accommodation was practical, homely and very comfortable. The owner was most helpful and the agents (Ocean Cottages) were efficient, helpful and patient. Being a dog friendly premises enhanced the whole experience as our friends hounds were able to join in and add to a very relaxing break away. Local pubs and restaurants were not a disappointment, but further afield in Georgeham and Braunton other good restaurants available. I defy anyone NOT to fall in love with North Devon, a lot of people already are, which would account for some excess traffic on the roads in Peak periods, so plan ahead! A great stay. Thank you.

This is a really lovely house, the best house we have rented in terms of its location and garden. The grand children have loved it. Lovely bedrooms and we all slept well.

Hills View is set in the centre of busy Croyde ( in Summer) with convenient access to the shop, post office, bakery, family pub , restaurant and surfing shops. The visiting Markets are just across the road and the beach is accessible via the footpath by the bakery ( 10 mins walk) or along the road up the hill ( parking available) although this is busy. The Cottage is well equipped and has everything you need to feel like a home for your stay, complete with reclining chairs and sofas in the lounge! We really enjoyed our stay, as did everyone else according to the guest book!

We had a great holiday in the cottage would definitely return and recommend.

Super place to stay. This cottage was well equipped and super clean. Lots of space for 6. The best location in the village.

Having stayed at a property that was minus 4 stars two years ago, Croyde in general was the last place on the planet I wanted to visit, however my Grandson likes surfing so it was with trepidation that I booked with Ocean Cottages taking on the lease of Hills View who assured me that my fears would not be repeated. Oceans Cottages deserve full marks (20/10!) for the attention paid to me which can only be a reflection of the high standard that they have set themselves. Hills View is a highly recommend property. We shall certainly use Ocean Cottages again, and if available "Hills View". However, greater attention to detail on the part of Ocean Cottages to that of the Terms and Conditions is a must especially to the written English Language concerning the handover procedures.

Hills View is centrally located in Croyde offering easy access to both the small shops and the beach. The accommodation was spacious and comfortable for six people with a modern, well equipped kitchen, bathrooms, laundry and drying area, living space and large bedrooms. There is a large enclosed garden and parking on site.

The location of the house is central to the village shops and bars and although very close did not experience any noise from visitors to the village. The house was lovely and clean, the beds comfortable and kitchen absolutely a pleasure to cook in. The best part of the house was the en suite, kitchen and lovely well kept garden, the worst bit was the attached shower on the bath was positioned so that you needed to bend over to wash your hair, however there was a full sized shower in the downstairs bedroom

We stayed with daughter, son in law and grandson. The house was very clean, well equipped, comfortable and well positioned within the village of Croyde. The garden was excellent and we all enjoyed relaxing and playing in it!! We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.
