Braunton holiday cottages

Staying in a Braunton holiday cottage is one of the best ways to explore  this large bustling village close to Saunton and Croyde - the gateway to North Devon's Golden Coast.

Braunton has plenty of interesting shops, cafes, restaurants, public houses, supermarkets and the award-winning Squires fish & chip shop. Cycle hire facilities are available to explore the Tarka Trail along the estuary into Barnstaple and as far as Instow, Bideford and beyond. Braunton's sand dunes, called Braunton Burrows, and have been awarded the world-class designation of 'Biosphere Reserve', as over 500 species of wild flowers have been identified on its grassy, sandy slopes. A toll roll leads from the Tarka Trail in Braunton through the water meadows, where swans nest and sheep stroll across the single track road to Crow Point, and this where the beach and sand dunes turn to meet the Taw & Torridge Estuary.

Many people bring their speedboats, kayaks, canoes and windsurfing equipment to Braunton to enjoy the more sheltered tidal waters of the River Taw where they can cross to Instow - subject to wind and tide!
